Undetectable = Untransmittable

Saving lives &
Ending the HIV epidemic

Undetectable = Untransmittable

A person living with HIV who is on treatment and has an undetectable
viral load cannot sexually
transmit HIV.

All people living with HIV have a right to accurate
and meaningful information about their social,
sexual, and reproductive health.

What we do

Prevention Access Campaign is the leading site for U=U  information, resources, and news.

–U.S. President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)

In 2016, Prevention Access Campaign created and launched the U=U concept and campaign to build and communicate a scientific consensus on U=U and to ensure all people living with HIV have access to the information, treatment and care to benefit from it. Today, U=U is a scientifically established fact and a global health and human rights movement in over 100 countries.

Our collaborative work in advocacy, education and communications has resulted in historic global changes to the official risk assessments of HIV transmission, improving HIV prevention and treatment efforts worldwide. U=U education is now a funding requirement of the largest donors in the HIV/AIDS response (PEPFAR and The Global Fund) and a commitment of nearly all member states of the United Nations. Together, we’re transforming lives, dismantling HIV stigma and accelerating the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

A glimpse of the U=U global community

We are a global community working together to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV, dismantle HIV stigma, and bring us closer to ending the HIV epidemic.
